Project Bitcoin Mining Germany

A recent project in Germany involved the installation of three IntrCooll Plus units for the cooling of a Bitcoin Mining. This is a peer-to-peer computer process used to secure and verify Bitcoin transaction payments from one user to another on a decentralized network.

The Challenge

Large amounts of computers are involved in a Bitcoin Mining process. In our project we did have a 35 m long and 7 m wide room where there are around 1400 computers allocated. These computers are operating 24/7 and consume about 1.24 MW electricity which generates a very high internal heat load. Obviously, this increases the need to cool and ventilate the dedicated area to improve the work efficiency of the allocated computers.

The Solution

Our customer didn’t have any cooling before installing our 4 IntrCooll Plus units. The inside temperature rose very quickly reaching high peaks. Warm air affected the correct functioning of the computers. Oxycom’s IntrCooll units helped them to control the inside room temperature therefore increased the work efficiency of the allocated computers. Furthermore, Oxycom’s IntrCooll provided air filtration and overpressure which helped to minimize the stratification of dust in the room preserving the good functioning of the computers.

The Results

After evaluation of many system, Bitcoin Mining choose for Oxycom’s lntrCooll because this was the only solution which could help them achieve cooling against low energy consumption. They are very satisfied about the cooling efficiency of the lntrCooll Plus they can keep the humidity levels and the room temperature under control with very little electricity consumption.
